6th race of GT was held on a track characterized by tight medium speed corners thrown at the driver one after the other with very few straights and cars not going anywhere near top speed. A very demanding track that probably kept most drivers on the edge.
Quali
This even features a sprint quali, and for the first time in GT 3 drivers had entered qualifying from the same team. McLaren GT had entered Briky/Shibastop, their reserve driver known for qualifying P3 on his debut in F1. Expectations were high but so was the competition. Sot and Agg got away well, with Agg leading for a brief period before he went over a kerb and lost it. Briky was battling Blaze and Lio for the podiums while the BMWs gradually dropped back. Agg then made a comeback to P2. Meanwhile Obli was not performing at his best, down in P6. Sot was comfortably leading while there was an intense battle for P2 between Lio, Blaze and Agg. Agg fell back again, and the battle was between Lio and Blaze alone but on lap 9, Agg made a comeback, passing Lio and was then battling Blaze. The battle went on until the end and Blaze defended valiantly and in the end he barely hung on to P2. Lio came home in P4 and Briky finished P5, not bad for his debut in GT. Obli followed in P6 then came Lexi and Storage.

Race
When the race began, it was obvious as to who had more pace. Both McLaren GT drivers pulled away from the back, progressively gapping them as they went on. Blaze was running in P3 followed by Lio who was the only Mercedes driver that day. Obli had missed the start thanks to internet issues, he started the race 4 laps down and was running last, behind the BMW of Storage. Sot and Agg were quick to lap the BMWs while Obli pulled away from the BMWs. As the race went on, nothing changed much. The only battle was for P3 and it happened subtly. Lio pit early and was holding a steady pace while Blaze left his pit stops out till the end. By the time Blaze was done pitting twice, Lio had caught up to him and Lio spent the last few laps chasing Blaze for the final podium position. However Blaze managed to hang on to it this time better than he could at the sprint. He ended up in P3 with a gap of a second or 2 over P4. However both of them were 2 laps behind the race leaders. Sot and Agg together lapped the entire grid and Sot won the race with a gap of few seconds over Agg. The BMW of Storage was lapped well over 4 times and Obli lapped him too, this meant Obli passed Storage for P6. A drive which wasn't as rewarding but nevertheless proved Obli's commitment to racing and his team. Lexi finished P5 and Storage P7.
The same trio that finished on the podiums last week finished on the podiums again.

None of the Mercedes GT drivers showed up for the race, the McLaren GT's were on a different level while Lio was in good sync with his car and was doing incredibly well in the latter parts of the race but couldn't pass Blaze for his 2nd GT podium of this season. He was voted as DOTD for his efforts.
The race didn't provide as much action as R5 did but what does R7 have in hold?
