Goodbye Jeno

Today, on 25th August 2023 Jeno had ended his career in MCRO. He was mostly remembered as a team leader for Porsche RSR team in Season 2 GT. He was also a team leader of Squadra-Porsche, GMA Racing, Lamborghini GT and Alpine Racing for the first 3 rounds. Today, we will have a look at his achievements and important moments.

pre-S2 times

Jeno joined back in June 2022, after the server's creation. He had done a time for time showcase discord channel, but had never managed to be in a team for Season 1. Before Season 2, he had suggested some controversial suggestions (ex. drivers having to be paid and teams having expenses). He had also suggested some stuff for the racing series, like the Classic Le Mans series.

However his team leading adventure had started in August 2022, when the 911 RSR and Corvette C8.R teams were revealed. He signed up for the RSR team as a team leader. And then he signed John, the S1 GT champion. He then signed Avith as the 2nd main driver, who was one of CDT's most memoreable drivers, even before MCRO. And before the season started, he signed Lio (who was doing his first full season) and Disortion who were both really good drivers.

Season 2

The first race saw a big suprise of Fish_br winning in a slow SF90 agnaist John in the RSR. At first glance, he seemed like MCRO's next champion, but after that race there were suspicions of him cheating. Jeno along with Avith, Lio, Hackies and Egg have managed to get enough proof of Fish doing impossible times and convince Mat to blacklist him before Round 2 of GT. He then was blacklisted, however after some time Fish left the server and shortly after was banned. This also meant that he was disqualified from his only race, giving John his first win in RSR and Lio his podium on debut, as he finished 3rd.

Race 2 saw Lio get a suprise pole position, however he dropped his pace a bit during the race, allowing Avith to take the lead and win the race, with Lio coming 2nd and managing to do an RSR 1-2 finish. Avith returned for the next race on Gas Station Raceway, with Disortion replacing Lio for that round. Avith got pole with Disortion coming 2nd in MCRO's first ever sprint quali and was doing really good, sometimes racing Disortion for the lead. However, the latter driver didn't do as well and dropped behind Egg, finishing P3. Avith won the race, meanwhile. The RSR team was so dominative that they had only missed 4 points for the 100% point rate. In meantime, Sky had joined the team after he left Aston GT.

Before round 4, it was announced that kingkostas who at the time led the Lamborghini team had quit, meaning that nobody owned the team - until Jeno took it a few moments later. And then the Huracan Performante returned, meaning that the Lambo could now be somewhat decent.

Round 4 is also when John returned, with a bang as he won the race after a photo finish with Avith. Avith was given a penalty for corner cutting later, however. The team had scored an another 1-2 and also never missed out on a podium so far. The unfortunate thing happened before R5, as both John and Avith were not available, meaning that Sky and Lio would replace them. Sky did a great job keeping up the pace for the lead, as he won his first ever MCRO race after struggling in S1. Lio however finished P4, breaking the teams' podium streak. They were still in the lead with a massive margin, though. Also, Syrz who was driving for Lamborghini GT scored the team's first podium since S1. His teammate, Disortion finished P5.

Race 6 saw Syrz' first ever win on CDT's Circuit Race, as the Lamborghini was the fastest car on that circuit, beating even the RSR. John who was driving one of the RSR finished 2nd, though. The Lamborghini team owned by Jeno scored 22 points, with RSR having 15. These were the top 2 teams that race weekend. This was however RSR's worst race weekend so far, with no win scored. Still, they had scored the Constructor's Championship 2 races ahead of the finale.

Race 7 saw the return to the form, as John and Lio got an another RSR 1-2, scoring the team another 27 points. Race 8 was an another win for the team, with John winning and Sky scoring his 2nd podium. Also, Jeno's Lamborghini team had scored a 2nd place finish that weekend, thanks to Syrz. Not only did John win by 0 points, as he had more race wins than Egg, but also the RSR team won by 104 points (that's more points than the entire Chevrolet team). Thanks to Jeno's Lambo team revival, the team got P3 in Constructor's championship, overtaking Audi RS/McLaren GT.

This was also the last day before Jeno retired from MCRO and CDT. Despite the retirement status, he returned a few weeks later, however didn't sign up for any teams. He had given RSR to Sky and Lamborghini to Lio.

Season 3

Jeno didn't do much in Season 3, apart from occasional chatting. However, he caught an another scandal, with Obli joining RSR team and then joining the McLaren team and stealing the strategies from the first team. This resulted in McLaren GT being penalized with a ban from qualifying in the next race. He was also critical about the changes made in the server, especially RSR tyre bans, which he absolutely hated, and for a reason - RSR lost on championship in that season, and before the last race of the season John was disqualified for breaking several rules, which made Jeno really angry at Mat (and Vark). He was also critical about MCRO's current status, with unbalanced grids, lack of new drivers and advertisement. Despite all of this, he joined Season 4 as the Mercedes CLK GTR team leader for Season 2 of Hypercar.

Season 4

In meantime between S3 and S4, Jeno signed up for the CLK team leader position in Hypercar class, however after Hypercar S2 was picked for MCRO Season 4 the team became GMA racing and Jeno started hiring drivers - first off was Syrz, the F3 champion, then Avith, the Hypercar S1 champion with Pagani Corse and then John, the triple GT champion. He then signed Khangvette and Blaze as reserve drivers.

He was also picked as a team leader for Squadra-Porsche for F1 S1. He signed Avith and Blaze, with quack, Disortion and Lio coming as reserves. The team lineup looked good and the team was ready for an another championship. However, John retired some time after MCRO S4 started, which was one of the most memorable retirements so far.

Round 1 of F1 was one of MCRO's most chaotic races, with the wrong race winner being announced. But for Jeno, it wasn't a good day as Avith only finished P6 and quack DNF'd. Round 2 was a bit better, as Avith finished P5, with SHUTER scoring his first point in MCRO. In Round 3, Avith finished P2, making it the team's first podium finish, however he was later disqualified for making a few big corner cuts, along with Blaze, meaning that the team scored 0 points. This situation made Avith leave the team, retire for 12 minutes and come back.

With Avith gone, the team would be on its downfall, as in Race 4 the team only scored 1 point thanks to Lio. But on the same day as that race, Hypercar S2 had started. And the situation would look a lot better in Hypercar, as GMA did well in the start of the opening round, but fell off as Blaze did some mistakes. Even after Syrz started driving, they never caught up and finished 2nd.

Race 5 was the Squadra's last race where they scored points, with SHUTER scoring the team's last 11th point. Hypercar S2R2 was an absolute domination from Pagani, meaning no chances for Jeno's team to win. It was also a race where John did a one-off after retiring, which helped the team a bit, scoring them a P2 after a battle with the Aston team.

The following F1 races were a disaster, as the team continuously finished outside of points, even with the help of quack, who was an experienced driver. In Hypercar R3, Syrz was racing Aston for P3 but then disconnected, leaving the latter team in P2. Jeno's team then didn't race in R4, and then raced in R5, however finishing 3rd, behind Aston and Pagani. Race 6 is when the GMA would show its real potential and even led the race for some time. The restart ruined the race for them, as Pagani was back in the lead and eventually won the race. GMA finished 2nd, which wasn't bad, but at the same time the team never scored a win. In Constructor's Championship GMA lost to Aston, however. Jeno's plan was to dominate Hypercar S2, however this time it was Pagani's turn to win every single race. Despite a moment of frustration and saying in S3 that it was his final season, Jeno wanted to return for S5 and wanted to return the glory days of GT S2.

Season 5, the first 3 races

Jeno failed to get a team for both GT and MTCC, however since Bug was banned for cheating (in an investigation where he took a part in), he took the Alpine team with Syrz and Avith in it. He also signed up for Merc GT as a reserve driver, but never raced. The Alpine in MTCC would seem quite decent on short tracks, with good cornering speeds but mediocre acceleration. The Mercedes in GT seemed as the title contender, as BMW was just too slow.

Race 1 for MTCC showed absolute dominance from both Lotuses of Sot and Agg, however Avith finished P2 in the Sprint after a good comeback. Syrz did a terrible P8 finish, and in Sprint he finished P3. Avith DNF'd. The team scored 21 points - except they didn't, as Avith was disqualified for using a street engine, despite that engine being banned. That meant the team only got 9 points.

Race 2 was looking alright - Syrz finished P5 and Lexi finished P6 in Sprint. Then, Syrz didn't do that well in Feature and finished P6, with Lexi finishing P8, almost last. To make things worse, Syrz was penalized for a big corner cut, but kept his position. However, in Sprint Syrz got promoted to P4 thanks to Obli using a Turbo upgrade in the Sprint.

Race 3 is when Avith came back after missing R2. He did start the sprint race well, but crashed a few laps later. Syrz was doing well in the start, but sadly dropped as the race went on. Avith finished in a solid P5, Syrz missed out on points and finished P8. In Feature, Syrz did a lot better as he finished P4, but Avith DNF'd in Feature just like he did in R1. With 3 races done, the team was only P4, 2 points behind BMW Juggernaut in P3.

Since S5 started, Jeno started talking less, sending only a few messages since 5th August. He was possibly frustrated with the results of his team and also the Merc team, as it had drivers from his Alpine team (Syrz and Avith). He was most likely fed up with the bad results, and after Round 3 he retired for good. The real reason is unknown, but it might be similar to what I've said before.

It's a shame to see one of the most popular team leaders go, but as the time goes on, people will slowly lose motivation, especially if something goes wrong. Jeno always wanted to be the best, but only managed to do it in S2. Thanks to drivers' mistakes and sometimes an underpowered car, his teams after that season didn't do well. But S2 will be always remembered for him, as he scored 100% wins for his teams (7/8 wins for RSR and 1 win for Lambo).

The only thing we can do is hope the best for him in the future, as MCRO will probably go through some dominative team leaders. But there won't be a man dedicated as much to MCRO as Jeno. We're gonna miss you
