F1 S1 R5 Review

After a 2 week break, MCRO F1 is back with some changes - thanks to CDT's Engine Upgrades update, all drivers from now on will have to use the race engine to prevent anybody from cheating. There also was some confusion about 1 hour before the race as the track was incorrectly drawn - we've decided to fix the track and use it for the race.

Quali

The first lap was really great for Bugqtt1, who took the lead, however he spun on the final corner and dropped at the back. During lap 2, Vark DNF'd due to "skill issues", placing him at the back for the 2nd time in a row (he also DNF'd in the previous quali due to connection issues). Oblivious (bacon_swag2007) led most of the quali, however it was Syrz who got pole position, with Obli coming in 2nd place. Streekh got a suprising P3 finish, with Sot coming behind. One of the bigger shockers was also Agg qualifying 9th, which is one of his worst quali results.

Race

The race started well for Oblivious and Sot, who were battling for the lead, with Lexi and Streekh coming behind them. Syrz, the championship leader didn't do well, despite qualifying first, eventually retiring on lap 6 possibly due to lag issues - this changed the championship a bit, as after this race he wasn't as ahead as he was after Round 4. Back to the race - for about 10 laps, Sot and Obli were still really close to each other with Sot being first most of the time. Not long after, first cars were starting to be lapped (Alan and Cloud).

Then, Sot was building a gap, Obli was struggling to keep up with the leader, Lexi and Streekh were still keeping up, so did Bugqtt1. However, agg wasn't doing well - despite doing decent in the beggining, he was stuck in P7-P8 positions and was challenging the likes of Vark, LR_SHUT and liogammingvn. But then, Bugqtt1 started lagging hard for about 20 seconds which definetely put him back a bit.

Somewhere around lap 30, Obli has possibly made a mistake and dropped to P3, behind Lexi. However he managed to get back to 2nd pretty quickly. In meantime, Streekh was doing great, building a gap on Lexi and keeping the last podium position. Bugqtt1 was kinda losing pace, both Vark and Agg were in points range, however both of the Squadra-Porsches were out of points and with less than 10 laps to go, they needed to speed up to get into points.

However, on lap 42 with only 1 lap to go, Lio made a mistake which was indicated by the "nooooooooooo" in the chat. He then dropped to what was at the time P9 - he was only ahead of Alan and Cloud who were miles behind everyone.

After 43 laps, Sot has crossed the finish line first, winning his first F1 race this season. This also was the first win in MCRO F1 that wasn't done by Syrz. Obli crossed second, which was decent, however considering the battle between him and Sot in the beggining he expected himself to win and was dissapointed. After footage review, it was announced that Streekh came in 3rd - making it first podium for him and for Neptune Motorsports in MCRO F1. Really suprising, considering he's a rookie and hasn't done really well in the previous races. Lexi came behind him, which wasn't a podium but it was a decent finish still. Agg finished P5 in the end, Vark P6, LR_SHUT P7, scoring Squadra-Porsche's only point today and Lio P8. After footage rechecking we've confirmed that Bugqtt1 has unfortunely finished P9, behind Lio.

To sum it up - pretty interesting race with many suprises (both positive and negative) and interesting battles, especially at the beggining. With Syrz now leading the championship by "only" 20 points, will championship change its directions?
